Real Chain
A dedicated EVM network for the full lifecycle of financial assets.
The network is part of the product
Real Chain is Real's dedicated Avalanche Layer 1. It is built with Subnet-EVM, Avalanche's EVM engine for Layer 1 networks. Asset contracts run on Real Chain, and applications and services read the same on-chain record.
Financial assets need work after they are issued: eligibility changes, transfers, payments, reporting, and servicing. A dedicated network lets Real decide how the infrastructure for that work runs, including who validates, how much capacity there is, how fees work, and when the network upgrades.
Why Real uses a dedicated network
Many chains run EVM contracts, so that alone does not make Real Chain different. The difference is control: Real sets the network rules for its own financial apps instead of accepting the rules of a shared, general-purpose chain.
| Real controls | Effect on the system |
|---|---|
| Validator participation | Network admission can follow Real's governance model for qualified operators |
| Blockspace and execution policy | Financial applications do not compete directly with activity on an unrelated chain |
| Fees and native gas | Real can set network-level fee policy. Gas costs stay separate from asset payments and protocol service fees |
| Network upgrades | Real can decide and schedule chain changes for its own application stack |
| Canonical financial state | Token contracts and Business Validator records can share one authoritative transaction history |
This control does not merge the roles. Asset contracts decide who can hold and transfer a token, and network validators are not Business Validators.
